School District elections are held the third Tuesday in May of each year for the purpose of electing School Board Members and voting on the annual school budget.
Qualifications to Vote in School District Elections
A person can vote who is:
- A citizen of the United States.
- Eighteen years of age or older on the day of the school election.
- A resident within the District for a period of thirty (30) days prior to the school election.
- Registered to vote in the school district election or registered to vote in the general election.
Absentee Ballots for School District Elections
Qualified voters who will be unable to vote in person at a school election may utilize an absentee ballot which may be obtained by application to the School District Business Office at the Jr/Sr High School. This application must be received by the District Clerk at least seven days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter or the day before the election if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter. Completed ballots must be received by the District Clerk no later than 5:00 P.M. on the day of the election.
