Welcome to Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment
Dear Edgemont Community,
I am honored to serve this community in a role that supports our district’s mission: making sure every student has meaningful, engaging, and high-quality learning every day.
We believe that when our curriculum is clear, our teaching is purposeful, our learning is ongoing and our systems work together, students thrive.
Our Core Focus Areas
Our work is aligned with our District and Superintendent Goals, as well as our shared vision in the Profile of an Edgemont Graduate. It centers on four main priorities:
- Strengthening Instruction. The classroom is at the heart of what we do. We want all students to have challenging, research-based, and engaging lessons. This includes using high-quality materials and building a curriculum that connects learning from kindergarten through grade 12. Strong Tier I instruction is the foundation for student success.
- Instructional Accountability & Data-Informed Systems. Effective systems help us understand and meet student needs. By using data tools and evaluation systems, we ensure our decisions are informed, timely, and student focused. These systems help us build a stronger Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework.
- Systemwide Professional Learning. Great teaching means always learning. We support our educators through professional development, collaborating with them to build knowledge, tools, and strategies to meet all students’ needs. This includes district-wide programs, coaching, partnerships with groups like the Tri-State Consortium, and training in areas such as AI, literacy, STEAM, and more.
- Collaboration & Holistic Student Development. Learning is a team effort. We work together across grades, departments, and schools to keep our work connected and consistent. We also focus on supporting the whole child: academically, socially, and emotionally, by building strong partnerships with families and staff.
As you look through this site, we hope you learn more about the thoughtful work happening in our district. Most of all, we want you to see the care, purpose, and commitment behind everything we do.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
