The EJPC functions as a liaison between the Japanese and the surrounding American community and helps newly-arrived Japanese residents to adjust to their new environment. The EJPC schedules meetings. publishes a newsletter, and prepares its own handbooks in Japanese which provide useful information about the school system, community activities, and the local way of life.

The Edgemont Newcomers Club welcomes all new and near-new residents of the Edgemont School District. Small and Informal, ENC provides social opportunities for newcomers to get to know the community, share experiences, and make new friends. Our monthly coffee morning is held from September to June in a member's home. Children are welcome. Residents who would like to meet new local friends are also welcome. Greenville Community Theater is a not-for-profit group founded in 1965 by Edgemont resident George Shoemaker. Participants are involved in all areas of production for two fully-staged shows each year, plus free monthly workshops. The group is known for presenting original works of local playwrights. Annually, GCT presents the Shoemaker Award to Edgemont HS student(s) for outstanding work in theater activity. In memory of George Shoemaker, the company has also established a theater arts section in the EHS library.

Founded in 1920 and located in downtown Scarsdale, Scarsdale Edgemont Family Counseling Service (SFCS) provides individual and family counseling, couple therapy, parent support groups, social skills groups for children, summer outdoor adventures for teems, family life education and services for older adults. These services are available to people living or working in Scarsdale and Edgemont. Most health insurance pland are accepted. No person in need is ever turned away; fees for counseling services are based on a sliding scale schedule.

Founded in June 2015 and became non-profit organization in 2020, the Edgemont Chinese Association (ECA) is aimed to make a positive impact on our community and provide support to our members. The ECA participates in the AAPI Heritage Day, donates books to our school libraries, and performs Lion Dance for our elementary students in the Spring Festival. The ECA organizes NewComer Orientation, Spring Festival Gala, Summer BBQ, and many informative lectures for our members. The ECA prepares the handbook in Chinese to provide useful information about Edgemont community life. The ECA has a WeChat group for members to communicate.

The Edgemont (Greenville) Community is served by a combination paid and volunteer fire department with headquarters at 711 Central Park Avenue, Scarsdale, NY 10583. The Fire District is administered by an elected Board of Commissioners, which is responsible for the operation of the Department, its budget, and the Fire District Taxes.

Girl Scouts offers a program of recreational, educational, and community service activities for girls from kindergarten through high school. Troops are organized by grade and are led by trained adult volunteers. In addition to each troop's activities, girls participate in Scarsdale-Edgemont community programs as well as those offered by Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson. For more information, check us out.

Cub Scouting is a family activity open to boys in 1st through 5th grades. It offers an outdoor-focused curriculum based on activities, skills and character, helping our Scouts to learn new skills and teamwork, develop independence, and strengthen family bonds. OUr activities have included outdoor camping, overnights on the Intrepid and Battleship New Jersey, community service projects and the famous Pinewood Derby. Join over 40 families who participated last year.
